Mindshare has announced Haldun Kayali as international head of its new trading arm The Exchange, a key appointment in the agency’s comprehensive global restructure.
Kayali, who has been at Mindshare
since its inception in 1998, steps up from his role running the UK Ford Motor
Company account, where he was most recently responsible for Ford's multi-million
pound multi-platform sponsorship of Premier League football in partnership with UK
broadcaster Sky.
In his new role, Kayli will work closely with Simon Pardon, director of trading
at Group M in the UK and Alan Hodge the deputy director of trading. He will be based
in the Mindshare Worldwide office in London.
The Exchange is the
new era trading arm of Mindshare's new restructured offering announced last month to
coincide with the tenth anniversary of the WPP-owned agency. The group will deal
with trading across traditional media and new forms of communication, such as
content deals and enhanced online trading.
Kayali said: "Trading
is no longer just about booking traditional media time and space but is evolving as
technology continues to drive changes in consumer behaviour.
"In
keeping with our ongoing restructure, The Exchange, along with our three other
groups, Client Leadership, Business Planning and Invention will offer more avenues
for our clients to reach the consumers they want to target.
"The
Exchange offers advertisers one focal point - with experts in trading all forms of
value exchange between brands, consumers and the media - not only the traditional
channels such as press and TV but also the likes of branded content distribution,
editorial marketing and word-of-mouth marketing. I'm thrilled to take this role and
look forward to expanding those opportunities. "
Nick Waters, CEO Mindshare EMEA, added: "Haldun is a top class trader, with considerable experience leading the negotiations and delivery for some of our most important clients in the UK market; he is now stepping up to handle our international clients. He has demonstrated great dedication to his clients and this agency, and considerable vision as to how his area of expertise will develop in the marketplace. He was a natural choice to lead The Exchange for the region as we shape our future."
Globally Mindshare has changed its structure from 12 separate groups to four main groups, Client Leadership, Business Planning, Invention and The Exchange in response to client needs, simplifying its approach and creating an offering called the Value Exchange - an exchange between brands and consumers, which goes beyond traditional media forms to create a platform neutral approach for Mindshare clients.
